My name is Cory Checketts, I'm originally from here in Cache Valley but I've lived in different places and decided to come back. I'm a JCOM major in my junior year, emphasizing in Public Relations. When I'm not at school I'm working at a local landscaping company or playing bass in my band Welcome to the Woods. I am eager to work my hardest and learn as much as I can this semester. Just giving everyone an update on what I have been up to. I have most of the video clips we will be using for the project saved on my computer, and I'm still in the process of getting the last few. My new video software is up and running, so this thing will look super professional. I'm excited to shoot and get all the shots done so I can get this thing all wrapped up. See you soon.

Just posted a new background on the project blog, that I think is quite fitting. Still working on my final post, and doing research. Cool things are coming!

I finally finished up all of my research, formatting, and citations for the blog today. I spent all afternoon Saturday and most of the day Sunday writing my section of the blog and doing research to make sure everything was cohesive. I spent a great deal of time researching and checking news articles that were mentioned on The Colbert Report as well as Glenn Beck's show. There was a lot of information to go through, but I was able to learn a great deal about what was reported, and which news articles were framed a certain way in order for them to look more appealing to a certain audience. This project has been extremely time consuming and stressful, however, I have learned a great deal of information about news broadcasting. I feel like I have done all that I can in order to make this project the best that I can. My group evaluation is printed and filled out, I spent approximately 13 hours on my contribution, not including the work that I had to scrap due to a change in plan.
